1. Robert Gagne's nine events of instruction is a useful teaching tool. It is almost a generic way of teaching that you could apply to most lessons, in any subject. It would help the teacher organize his or her thoughts about the lesson, and the progression of the lesson. It would also help keep students focused and engaged in the lesson.
We also learned about three types of interactions in the classroom: student to student, instructor to student, and student to content. To keep students fully engaged, it would be important to use all three types of interactions. You could fit most of Gagne's events into the different types of interactions as well. The students in your classroom would be engaged and interested in the entire lesson, from start to finish.
2. Creating a Prezi meets several of the ISTE standards. Standard 1b says "students create original works as a means of personal or group expression." I think Prezi is a great example of original work that is used to create an awesome presentation. It is different every time and students can reflect their subject matter through the Prezi. I also think it meets Standard 6d. Prezi is a new type of presentation. Students can take their knowledge of PowerPoint, apply it, and create something totally new.

My Philosophy of Education
I believe that in a classroom, a teacher should create a learning environment that is fun, enjoyable, and where each child feels welcome and safe. The environment should foster independence, and a teacher can do that by preparing the environment accordingly. There should be interesting and new materials all the time, and the teacher should provide challenging activities that promote creativity and encourage a child to use his or her imagination. The teachers themselves should always be warm and positive, and should take an interest in each child.
Children learn best through hands-on, sensory exploration, and discovery. Children should be able to make choices for themselves about what they want to do and how they want to accomplish their goals. A teacher can help a child achieve those goals by asking thought-provoking questions, and making sure the children have enough materials to realize them.
The teacher should also get the families of their students involved as much as possible in their child's education and build good relationships with the parents. Parents are a child's first teachers, and their home life affects everything else in their world, so making sure they have a quality home life is important to their learning as well.
I want to be a teacher to help every child I meet. I want them to feel good about coming to school every day and I want to help them reach their goals, whatever they may be. I sincerely believe that teacher’s help make the world a better place and I want to be a part of that.
